Even as 2 Timothy 3:1-5 proves to be currently true in our nation, ask Our Lord to raise up men like Dwight L. Moody, Rich Mullins, and Charles Finney to bring about the rebirth of the American Evangelical church (ala Ezekiel chapter 37).
Like the Jewish Religious Establishment in the book of Amos (see book: short read) we have drifted from service to the Only True Shepard and instead seek our own aggrandizement, greed, and lusts. Not only this but we fund our excesses at the expense of those who Christ defines as the "least of these" in Matthew 25:31-46, denying them help by falsely claiming that the only reason someone can be in need is immorality before Our Lord.
The entire Book of Job disagrees.
As the term "revival" refers to the church returning to its "First Love" rather than a wave of new converts please also ask Our Lord to astound our nation by showing the American public just what Christ's Bride can do if she's not too absorbed in her own navel.
